Our Mission
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is a resource of diverse and highly-trained EHS professionals who serve the Howard University campus. We are dedicated to reducing injuries, eliminating accidents, improving fire safety, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Our Vision
Our vision is a community with students, faculty and staff who are knowledgeable of risk prevention and are empowered to learn and work in a way that protects both human health and the environment. This aligns with and supports the mission of the University as “sustaining a cadre of faculty who are, through their teaching, research and service committed to the development of distinguished, historically aware, and compassionate graduates and to the discovery of solutions to human problems in the US and throughout the world.”
